David Shaner

Dr. David Edward Shaner is the founder (1986) of Shaner & Associates, Inc.: Performance Development Consultants as well as CONNECT Consulting LLC (2008). Dr. Shaner was a professor at Furman University for 30 years where he now serves as the Herring Chair Emeritus in Philosophy and Asian Studies. He is a former Olympic Valley USA ski racer, an internationally recognized martial artist (Ki-Aikido 7th dan), an author of four books, a book series editor of 37 books (with the State University of New York Press focused upon the biological basis of behavior), and is a respected consultant in the areas of cross-cultural business development, organizational effectiveness, and change management. Dr. Shaner is a frequent speaker in the U.S., Japan, Europe, and Russia. He has appeared on National Public Television, CNN, and NBC as a commentator upon U.S./Japan cultural and business relations. Dr. Shaner’s latest book is entitled The Seven Arts of Change: Leading Business Transformation That Lasts (Sterling Publishing, 2010). His forthcoming book (2014) is entitled Living With The Wind At Your Back.
