Jeff Garwood

  • Currently an active consultant, adviser and financier of several growth companies in the clean-tech arena, Jeff is helping numerous firms map their strategic plans, develop targeted action plans and execute on delivering value to customers – as part of a global ecosystem. His experiences from GE, McKinsey, DuPont and start-up companies have positioned him as a valued operator/advisor to many financial and operating firms.
  • Jeff  is past president and CEO of GE Water & Process Technologies, a $2+ billion business unit of GE Infrastructure. In this position, he led the integration of 5 broad companies GE acquired to build the best global portfolio – Glegg, Betz Dearborn, Osmonics, Ionics and Zenon. This integration action improved the overall profitability, aligned the portfolio for growth and continued to deliver on the opportunity that the acquisitions afforded – providing the advanced products, services and solutions to meet customer’s specific needs, globally.
  • He began his career as a process engineer with Dupont in a utilities role, with responsibilities for water treatment, powerhouse and boiler management, air compression and Nitric Acid production. After Dupont, he spent over four years with McKinsey & Co., a consulting firm, where he focused on business development, change management and strategic business modeling.
  • Jeff Garwood joined GE in 1992 in business development and sourcing at GE’s global headquarters and later served in a variety of management roles at GE Plastics, including global M&A, leading the Engineered Styrenics Resins business and plant management responsibilities. He then worked outside GE from 1999 to 2001 where he assumed chief operating officer roles for Commerx and Youcentric, early stage IT firms. He rejoined GE Aircraft Engines in 2001 as president of Garrett Aviation Services and was named president and CEO of GE Fanuc Automation in 2003. After three successful years leading GE Fanuc Automation, he assumed the role of President & CEO at GE Water & Process Technologies in February 2006.
  • Mr. Garwood has 3 daughters and a wife, residing in Charlotte North Carolina – a chosen location after 14 corporate moves. He is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of NC State University where he earned a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering. Jeff also graduated first in his M.B.A. class at the University of North Carolina.
