Terry H. O’Neal

Mr. O’Neal is the founder and Managing Partner of GrowthPhases Acquisitions Group. He is the former President & CEO of 5 global product technology companies held by both MNCs and private equity firms. He is a unique global executive who has a balance of both small and big company experience and has created organic enterprise value through innovative products and solutions, international sales growth, and implementing lean six sigma to obtain growth and efficiency. Often described as focused, passionate and results driven, Terry infuses his organizations with his own brand of engaged leadership, vision, innovation, and energy.

He excels at acquiring and leading companies that are at a critical stage and then transforms them through strategy development, focusing on what makes the company great in the customer’s eyes, constantly innovating, organizational alignment, and execution. Terry is a people oriented CEO who creates a positive environment in which diverse people can excel without bureaucracy. 

Terry began his career with Schneider Electric where he spent 19 years holding positions with increasing responsibility culminating in becoming President of two acquired companies. Mr. O’Neal held numerous senior executive roles around the globe in sales, marketing, M&A, corporate development, and manufacturing. While in corporate development, Terry co-authored the “Secure Power” growth platform strategy that led to the acquisition of APC and integration with MGE UPS and included other power quality correction portfolio products. He was with Kavlico Corporation as the President and Chief Operating Officer and led the Company to record sales and profitability. In his last year, the company recorded revenue exceeding $200M and employed 1,600 employees. Prior to Kavlico, Mr. O’Neal led the acquisition of EFI Electronics (NASDAQ: EFIC) and took over as President of EFI Electronics Corporation where he doubled the revenue through global expansion and achieved record profitability through Lean Manufacturing and supply chain management. 

After leaving Schneider Electric, he served as Chief Executive Officer and Board Director at Abrisa Technologies. There he led the successful integration of three acquired family businesses and prepared it for an eventual divestiture by Graham Partners. Terry joined a Braemar Energy Ventures owned company, Fulham Lighting Company, where he held the position of Global Vice-President, responsible for the global operations and product development teams based in Shanghai and Beijing China. 

He was CEO of OSRAM Solutions business unit and CEO of Traxon Technologies based in Hong Kong. At OSRAM, he joined the company as CEO of the Solutions BU reporting to the Board of Directors. Later he integrated the two business units of Luminaries and Solutions to create the Lighting Solutions Business Unit in Asia-Pacific. At OSRAM, he turned around the business and delivered profitability in year 2 and increased profit again in year 3. He substantially improved enterprise value by expanding the product portfolio, increasing service offering, and expanded sales channels all while optimizing the organization and building a high performance leadership team.

Most recently, Terry was the President & COO of SACO Technologies based in Montreal, Canada. The company is the leading specialist in video lighting for stadiums and theaters.

Terry served as an independent Board Director at AST Modular between 2006-2014. AST Modular was a manufacturer of modular data centers based in Barcelona, Spain. The company was acquired by Schneider Electric in 2014. He also served as an independent Board Director at Power Distribution Inc between 2007-2011. PDI was a manufacturer of electrical distribution equipment primarily serving the data center and other critical power installations. PDI was acquired by Smiths Interconnect in 2011.

O’Neal’s broad knowledge is a result of his cross-functional leadership experience that included 11 years abroad in Singapore, France, Hong Kong, and Canada. Terry is a certified lean manufacturing trainer and he embeds “lean thinking” into every organization he is engaged with.

Mr. O’Neal holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology from Texas A&M University and a M.B.A. from Duke University.
